Jody began his career in funeral service right out of Woodruff High School. He became an apprentice with the then- Forest-Lawn Mortuaries in Woodruff, Boiling Springs, and Chesnee, SC. He graduated from Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in 1997, and since then has worked in every area of funeral service possible.
During his career, he has managed four different funeral homes and a cemetery - two simultaneously. He has worked for both funeral service corporations and family-owned businesses. He has handled all areas of funeral home management, including, but not limited to, finance management, sales, product management, customer service, employee supervision, and office management.
Jody is a long-time member of both the National and South Carolina Funeral Directors' Association, and he coaches the local Little League baseball and football teams. He enjoys playing golf, hunting, and fishing, and loves to watch any kind of sports.
Erin Gaston Yarborough was born and raised in Woodruff, South Carolina. Erin is the daughter of Alan and Trudy Lida Gaston of Woodruff, and the granddaughter of Mary Harris Bennett Gaston and the late Joe Gaston of Woodruff, and the late James "Red" and Mae Parker Lida of Enoree. After graduating from Woodruff High School, Erin attended Clemson University and the University of South Carolina Spartanburg, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. She later earned a Master's of Education Degree from Southern Wesleyan University. Currently, Erin has earned nine credits toward her Education Specialist Degree.
Erin is a certified teacher, most recently working in Spartanburg School District 2, and is an adjunct instructor at Spartanburg Community College. Over their eighteen years of marriage, Erin has served many roles in the funeral industry, assisting her husband. She has handled office management and accounting, family after-care, and even providing music for funerals through singing. She handles the day-to-day office management of the funeral home, as well as assists Jody with funeral operations. Erin loves the beach, and goes when she can to indulge her other pastime of reading the latest mystery novel.
Jody and Erin have two boys, Kyle and Jace, ages sixteen and ten respectively, who both attend District 4 schools and play football for the Woodruff Wolverines. They are active in Cornerstone Baptist Church in Woodruff, and you can find them at any Woodruff sports activities. Both of their extended families still live in the Woodruff area.
